Willie Viljoen
Presenter, Willie J Viljoen’s resumé:
Willie qualified through AACEI in Cost Engineering to receive his ICC international certification in 2004. He is currently preparing to achieve Earned Value Professional status through AACE International. Willie has more than 35 years experience in project controls, covering mining, paper and pulp, petro-chemical, power generation and nuclear projects.
Willie has presented two papers on Earned Value Management:
1. At the AACEI’s World Conference in Toronto in 2008,
2. At the PMSA’s Annual Conference in Cape Town in 2009.
In 2010 he attended the College of Performance Measures’ 2010 Earned Value World Conference, in Naples, Florida, USA.
Willie has held various senior positions during his career:
- 1984 to 1987 - Appointed to the Board as Director of Group 5 Projects Construction
- 1988 to date a Director of Marwillcor Project Control Services (Pty) Ltd. Marwillcor provides ECSA accredited training workshops to the Project Management and the Construction industry on World Class Project Controls™
- 2003 -2004 worked in collaboration with Dr. David Milne of David Milne & Associates to apply and assess earned value progress and performance measurement on major projects in South Africa.
- 2004 - Appointed as a member of the PMSA Standards Generation Body - A Government Gazette Appointment
- 2004 to 2005 - Served on the Board as Director of the Cost Engineering Association of South Africa (CEASA) – 2 year term
